This Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 webcam has a host of features and the great quality you'd expect from a name like Microsoft. It's the top of the range version of the popular Lifecam range and is suitable for use with the new Vista OS.

The camera is capable of taking 5 Megapixel still photos, and will film your video in 1.3 megapixel clarity.

Other features include a wide-angle lens, pan/tilt/zoom controls and automatic face-tracking. It also has a built-in microphone that cancels out extraneous noise, so you'll enjoy much clearer video calls. Naturally the unit is compatible with Skype / MSN and all other video chat programmes.

The VX 6000 is cleverly integrated with Windows Messenger (MSN messenger), just click the live call button and the software launches. Great for ease of use (especially if buying for an older relative for example).
