Installing your webcam on Vista : ZC0301PL

This installation guide applies to both the desktop and laptop version of webcam we sell.

1. Drivers - If you did not receive a CD, or it won't work for some reason, please click here to download a zipped version of the drivers. Open the file and extract the contents. Within that file, you'll find setup.exe which you can then run to install the drivers on your machine.

2. Installing

2(a) Insert the CD, Vista should open the folder for you and you'll see this screen. If not, click Start > Computer > (D:) 301PL

Double click Setup to run the driver installation

2 (b) You'll then be prompted to ask if you want to install the software. Click yes, and you'll then see this screen

Click next

2(c) Once you've completed that, you'll get the following message. Click "Install the driver software anway"

2(d) You've now installed the driver. That's the easy bit!

Click "No, I'll restart my computer later"

2(e) Plug in the webcam at this point, and you should get the message in the corner that reads ;

2 (f) It'll soon be time to re-start your computer. You will then be prompted by the following message :

Click to Restart.

2 (g) Once you've restarted the computer, plug in the webcam and click the little button on the body.

With any luck, this should cause AmCap to start.

Should look like this. Except, you'll no doubt have a more interesting shot than my chucks.

Tips :

If you get a blank screen, an error message or anything else doesn't quite work out , I'd recommend trying to re-install the drivers. To do this, open Setup.exe again from your CD (or download), then uninstall, and repeat the process outlined above to re-install.

The webcam only allows one program to access it at any one time. If you're running MSN or Skype, Amcap won't work and vice versa. Therefore, make sure Amcap is closed if you're going to have a video conference.
