1. Insert the CD. The Installation
should automatically start. If it doesn't, open My Computer and click
on your CD drive. You will be able to open / run setup.exe from here by
double-clicking on the icon.
Important: Do not plug the webcam in yet, that'll come after you've installed the software.
Alternatively, if you cannot access the CD for whatever reason, please see the driver downloads above. I recommend the udated Sonix Driver.

Above: If the setup doesn't run automatically, open My Computer and then run USB20PCCam_v5.5.8.10.exe
2. You'll see the following screen when you run the setup:
Above: follow the instructions by pressing Install.
3. Finish the setup by pressing the Finish button. The setup should close now. You now need to Restart your computer.
4. After restarting your computer,
plug the webcam in. You will see two things; firstly at the bottom
right there should be a small popup to tell you that Windows has found
new hardware. Secondly, you should be confronted with three options.
Select the first one, and press Next.
Above: Choose the first option and press next (Weiter). Here I'm using the German version of XP! Just to be clever...

You should see this popup in the corner of your screen. Except if you're running English windows it'llsay "New Hardware Found".
5. Choose the first option :
automatic installation. By clicking "Next", the files you installed
during the first part of installation will now be copied into the
relevant directory by Windows.
NOTE: At this point you may see the Windows XP Logo Testing message. It warns
you that the software has not been tested by Windows and so will
recommend you do not install. However, we've tested this software with
lots of different setups and have never had any problems. Also, we've
sold hundreds (maybe nearly a thousand by now) of these webcams, and
nobody has ever complained that their software has been incompatible
with Windows. Please press continue at this point.
6. Windows will copy your files for you.
7. Here it goes...

8. Windows now tells you that the USB 2 webcam has been installed correctly. Click to finish.

9. You may now see the USB 2 webcam found popup in the corner of your screen.

10. To launch the webcam, click the
top button on the camera. The green light should illuminate, and a
little program called AMCAP should also launch.
The camera needs a little time to adjust to the light levels.

Here the picture's pretty blurry. To fix it, slowly rotate the rim of the lens until the picture is clearer.
You'll notice that I've made the window much smaller to improve the picture quality.

Hey Presto! The picture is much clearer once I've focused the lens.
Note: To launch the camera in MSN you must first
close AMCAP. In your chat window, click on the small webcam logo next
to your picture and the webcam should automatically start to broadcast
your picture to the person you're talking to.
